London 2012 (2)

An online petition started yesterday in the UK, a few hours after the new logo for the Olympics of 2012 was unveiled. The petition calls for the London Organising Committee to create a new logo or at least change back to the old one. So far the petition has been signed by more than 16,000 people. It is not possible for everyone to like a design. I remember all the slamming the Athens Organising Committee got a few years back, when the two mascots of the Games were unveiled - Phevos and Athena. What a missed opportunity for British design to create and present a brand identity that will link London and the UK to the world and Olympism. One that would convey truly inspirational values and - of course - would also be easy to print on licensed pr...
